La Sape, an abbreviation of Société des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Élégantes ("Society of Ambiance-Makers and Elegant People"), is a subculture centered on the cities of Kinshasa and Brazzaville in the DRC and Republic of Congo. Someone who follows La Sape is known as a Sapeur.
