"Fires at night"

The Etiwanda Fire burns shortly after dusk on April 30, 2014 in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. The Santa Ana Wind driven fire threatened hundreds of homes in the dense urban interface of a mountain foothill community. Hurricane level gusts of wind topped 100mph grounding firefighting aircraft. The fire occurred before the start of the traditional fire season in May, signaling another year of drawn-out fire seasons and high demand for resources across the state to fight fires. In California's 2nd driest and hottest year on record, the Etiwanda Fire was a sign of things to come. Luckily Southern California ended up better off than northern California, Washington, and Oregon, where entire portions of towns were destroyed by wildfires.
